Charger Simulator screenshot

The OCPP Charger Simulator is the tool for developers and QA teams: virtual charge points that behave exactly like real hardware toward your CPMS — Boot, Authorize, StartTransaction, MeterValues, StopTransaction. OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 fully implemented, including Security Profiles.

No account, no barriers — create a virtual charger, get the WebSocket URL, and connect your CPMS or test against Pipelet's reference server.

Ideal for integration tests, protocol debugging, load testing and training. No firmware updates, no hardware costs, no waiting on a workshop.

What to expect

OCPP 1.6 & 2.0.1 complete

All core messages, Security Profiles, ISO 15118 Plug & Charge simulation. Even invalid frames or edge cases intentionally reproducible.

Configurable state machine

Boot behaviour, MeterValue intervals, connector events, offline phases — all UI-configurable, including fault injection.

Multi-charger simulation

Multiple virtual chargers in parallel, for load tests up to the low three-digit range. Ideal for CPMS scalability tests.

Log and API access

Full OCPP message history as JSON, REST API for programmatic control. Integrable into CI pipelines.

Common scenarios

1

CPMS integration test

You're writing your own CPMS and want to test against real OCPP behaviour — without ordering hardware. The simulator runs in the browser, your CPMS in Docker.

2

On-site customer demo

Sales meeting, no wallbox at hand. You open the simulator, show a complete charging flow in the CPMS dashboard within seconds.

Frequently asked questions

Is Pipelet available as source code?
Yes. Every module is available as a source-access package — complete with Docker Compose, documentation and an SLA support channel. You can audit, customize and self-host.
Which OCPP versions are supported?
Full OCPP 1.6 and 2.0.1 including Security Profiles, Smart Charging, and ISO 15118 Plug & Charge.
Can I use individual modules only?
Yes. Every module is standalone — you can deploy e.g. just the OCPP Broker as infrastructure and build your own CPMS on top.
What does onboarding look like?
We start with a 30-minute call to scope requirements. After that you get a concrete proposal with modules, timeline and price. Pilot typically live in 4–8 weeks.
Is the simulator really fully open?
Yes. No signup, no account, usable directly in the browser. Designed for quick testing of your OCPP integration.
